When 4 imminent panelists faced this question, their answers were all greys -

Yes, sucess can be designed but this does not apply to all.

No, success cannot always be replicated.

Maybe, Every situation requires customisation

As for any other leadership and management question, the answer is “it depends”. The path to success cannot replicated easily as it is the journey to success that is more important and enables the learning. This experience is different for each one and is based on one’s unique values, capabilities and opportunities. Look for an opportunity to learn not exactly another title.

Success is the journey not always the final goalpost

  • You have to be ‘you’ with a little bit of strengths from others but if you copy him/her then you will be a weaker him/her.
  • Your Values, Engagement (emotional) quotient + Execution Methodology (relentless pursuit) will lead to success.
  • Innovation can lead to a product if You bring in that little value that no one has thought about.
  • Courage is not ‘about being afraid’. Everyone is afraid. Courage is about You taking action inspite of being afraid. Leaders will not often admit but they are also afraid and don’t always say so.

It is difficult to look ahead and predict what the future looks like. Luck is what happens when opportunity meets Your preparedness.

You are the product of Your interpretation of the situation and the situational intelligence, Your values that come into play, actions and the impact You make on others.
